Kolhapur : The most discussed issue at the state BJP conclave here remained the better and greater coordination between the party organisation and the government. National president Amit Shah raised the issue at a meeting with party ministers last night. The government needs the active party machinery to effectively convey its decisions to the people while the party needs the government to be able to spread to the areas considered difficult for it.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and education minister Vinod Tawde too discussed different aspects of the issue during different sessions on Sunday.

A special initiative to achieve better coordination between the government at the centre and the state and the grass root party workers will be taken on the organisational level, Tawde said.

“It has been observed that majority of issues brought by the party workers to the ministers involve health, civil supplies, home and school education ministries,” Tawde said and announced that the concerned ministers would soon appoint a committee to expedite action over issues raised by party workers.

A BJP minister from the State government would henceforth spend a day at the state party headquarter every week to expedite the decisions on issues coming from the common man. This would gear up the party machinations also, Tawde said adding that the schedule of ministers will be announced soon.

Tawde also said that the party workers should understand the nitty-gritty of decision making on the government level, which would enhance the government-party coordination, he said.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis described social media as a powerful tool to reach out to the people of the state and asked BJP workers to use technology wisely to enhance the goodwill of the government among people.

“The decisions and initiatives of the government need to reach the people. For that, make good use of technology. Start WhatsApp groups in all talukas and villages and apprise people the work done by the government,” Fadnavis said.

“Social media is no more confined to cities. People make use of social media in small villages as well. Even the media today believes a lot in forwarded messages. So, forward the decisions of the government to people,” he said.

Lauding the party’s performance in the state Assembly election, Fadnavis said, “The battle has just begun now. Let opposition parties poke fun at you. Let them keep saying decisions won’t get implemented. Don’t get disheartened. Remember, we have the largest mandate in recent times. This is only because people wished for a corruption-free government.”

“Stay away from corruption. Co-operative institutions and committees are meant for the benefit of the people. Remember, the government will take strong action against anybody indulging in corruption,” Fadnavis also advised party workers.

He alleged that the previous government encashed the contingency fund to buy helicopters for its leaders and that the BJP-led government has used money from the contingency fund to help farmers who have been reeling under a severe financial crisis due to hailstorms and unseasonal rains.

Kolhapur : BJP would contact each and every person who was enrolled as party member recently to strengthen organisation, said party’s state unit president Raosaheb Danve who assumed the charge of the post here on Sunday.

“Not power but the social reform is our goal. To achieve that a ‘Maha Sampark Abhiyan’ would be initiated wherein all the party members would strive to strengthen the organisation till the grass root level,” Danve said.

“Government and the organisation are the two wheels that need to be balanced. The party organisation should be able to form a bridge between the government and the people,” Danve told party workers. He also said that the necessary lessons in this regard can be taken from the party organisation in Chhatisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat where the party is in power for over 15 years. “The pro-people approach of the party as well as its coordination with the government has led to the success,” Danve told party workers.

Danve enumerated the achievements of the state as well as the Union government and also highlighted party’s achievements in the state in past six months.

He also mentioned his career graph and praised the democratic framework that is maintained in the party “which enables even a small party worker to rise to the state president’s post”.

At the beginning of the session outgoing president Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis proposed Danve’s name as president of the party. He described Danve as the ‘farmer face’ of the state party unit and as a politician who is identified with common man.[/alert]
