A year after Murli Deora’s death, Cong pays tribute to veteran leader

Mumbai :  Paying tribute to veteran Congress leader Murli Deora on his first death anniversary, a musical programme of devotional songs was organised by Mumbai Congress at its party office near Azad Maidan on Tuesday.

Around 500 party members and followers of Murli Deora were present at the event. In remembrance of Deora, the event was started at 3.30pm the exact time he had passed away last year.

Mumbai Congress had organised several programmes in south Mumbai such as blood donation camp, food and blanket distribution, eye check-up camp etc. in various blocks.

The son of the late leader Milind Deora said: “It’s a year now after my father passed away. We remember him through his work. He is our inspiration.”

Mumbai Congress President Sanjay Nirupam said: “The Mumbai Congress cannot be imagined without Murliji. We are striving to take forward the work he did for the country. His contribution for the party is very precious.”
