Mumbai : Two boys travelling on the roof top of a train on Western Railway were grievously injured after getting electrocuted by coming on contact of the pantograph of the train.
With about 90 percent burn injuries, 22 year-old Dinesh Palande died on the spot while 18-year old Gudappa Nalande suffered minor burns and was rushed to Cooper Hospital by the Government Railway Police (GRP).
The incident occurred at 8:21 pm when the two were travelling on the roof top of a general compartment of Churchgate bound local and came in contact of the pantograph of the train after it had reached Vile Parle. The trains on WR were seen running with a delay of over 20 minutes during the evening peak hours. The crowd of the commuters kept swelling with the delay in the trains.
