Ujjain: Valuables worth Rs 2 lakh, cash stolen from ex-sarpanch’s house

Ujjain: Thieves targeted an ex-sarpanch’s house located in village Mangrola, on Wednesday night and made away with valuable goods worth Rs 2 lakh and cash.  Ex-sarpanch Ashok Kumar told Mahakal police, “Most of the family members have gone for the Pachkroshi Yatra, and I was sleeping in the verandah. The thieves entered from the roof and made away with jewelleries and Rs 30,000 in cash.” The thieves also scattered household goods in the rooms. An FIR has been registered and a probe has been started. Villagers told that thieves also entered into a nearby building but could not take away anything from there.
