Ujjain: Eighth additional sessions judge Arvind Raghuvanshi convicted five accused of robbery of Rs 6 lakh in all 7 year of rigorous imprisonment and also slapped a fine of Rs 1000 each. Accused Sunil Mewada alias Patel (22) resident of village Nandni under Kalapipal police station, Mahendra (20), Bharat Prajapati (23) resident of village Phulen, Aman Tiwari (23) resident of Patel Nagar and Harish Dayma (24) resident of Neemuch were held convicted by the court under sections 394, 120,397 and 398 of the IPC and were awarded 7 year rigorous imprisonment with cash penalty of Rs 1000 each.
According to deputy director (prosecution) Dr Saket Vyas, plaintiff Sanjaykumar Malviya and his friend Harish Dayma had on April 10, 2017 were heading to HDFC bank located at Freeganj to deposit cash of Rs 6, 03, 530. Meanwhile 3 miscreants waylaid the plaintiff and his friend and thrashed him with an iron rod and brandished a knife towards Dayma. One of the miscreants snatched and fled with the bag containing cash on a motorcycle.
The bag also contained purse, ATM card, driving license and other personal things of the plaintiff. Later plaintiff Malviya registered police complaint at Neelganga police station. An FIR was registered and during investigation the police recovered a mobile phone of one of the accused Sunil which helped the police in reaching Sunil and others involved in the loot.
Consequently all accused including Dayma were arrested and produced in the court with chargesheet. The court after trial held all the accused guilty on the basis of evidences and awarded them rigorous imprisonment. Additional public prosecutor KK Sharma pleaded the case on behalf of government.
