Mumbai: In the ensuing Lok Sabha elections, cadres of different political parties are leaving nothing to chances as far as canvassing for their candidates is concerned. The same is true in the six constituencies in Mumbai that go to polls on April 29. And with just a week’s time left for the election, interesting details are emanating from the campaign trail.

In this context, Mumbai North East constituency is once again in the news. This time, the Shiv Sena party workers held a pre-poll strategy meeting at Matoshree where they complained to Uddhav Thackeray that their alliance candidate (Bharatiya Janata Party-Shiv Sena) Manoj Kotak is spending miserly on the campaign trail.

According to Sena party insiders, people who have joined Kotak during his election rally are expressing their anger as Kotak is not bearing even basic expenses such as on drinking water bottles and fuel, for instance.

The party workers are feeling the pinch of spending on these items from their own pockets. After learning about the situation, the Sena chief reportedly convinced the party workers to continue their support and not let the party lose the election due to such petty issues.

The Mumbai North East constituency will witness a triangular fight between three major political parties. BJP-Sena alliance candidate Kotak, Congress-Nationalist Congress Party (Aghadi) candidate Sanjay Dina Patil and Niharika Khondalay of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi.
