After a successful five years, Narendra Modi is set to serve yet another propitious term as Pradhan Sevak of his beloved country. Following the oath taking ceremony and the unveiling of the new government, a lot of new faces have sworn in while some of the most prominent and influential faces have had to take a leave.

Big names missing out

Some of the surprisingly absent parliamentarians were former Olympian, Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore who was the very popular Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting and Sports. Ministers like Manoj Sinha, Jayant Sinha and Suresh Prabhu were also missing from the list. Prabhu’s absence had a lot to with his performance as the Railway Minister, a post from which he was later transferred due to several major and minor railway mishaps collectively. A sad farewell was also bid to Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj and the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley who have both stepped down from their parliamentary roles citing health reasons. Maneka Gandhi, Uma bharti, Radha Mohan Singh were the missing females from the Union Cabinet list along with fellow Rajya Sabha member KJ Alphons, former MoS Mahesh Sharma, former MoS Home affairs Hansraj Ahir and former Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Sector Enterprises Anant Geete.
