Palghar: In the fourth phase of polling in Maharashtra, there were many discrepancies in the voters’ list. Shiv Sena and Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi are the main rivals in this constituency. Both parties have brought to the notice of the election commission thousands of bogus names of voters. VBA has claimed 60,000 names which have been repeated twice and Sena has shown 56,000 names as twice repeated.
Shockingly, one woman’s name (Surekha Suresh Patil) figured 68 times in the same list! Sena has asked for strict action. Besides, some names, which Sena pointed out, have been listed thrice, four or even five times. VBA has alleged that in Boisar, Nalasopara, Vasai and Palghar municipal limits, in booth numbers 282 and 283, thousands of bogus names were listed.
They have complained to the election complaint officer Prashant Narnavare. Further, they have demanded an inquiry and an inspection of the two booths. The officials assured VBA and Sena that special officers will be appointed and they will keep a close watch on these booths through web casting.
