After attacking the Jain community in 2015, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Chief Raj Thackeray has now roped in Mahendra Jain to woo the community. Mahendra Jain was also asked to speak at Thackeray’s rally at Mumbai’s Kalachowkie.
According to Mid-Day, Mahendra Jain is MNS’ business cell head and he is urging the business community also to join the party. Mahendra Jain appealed to the community to not vote for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. Thackeray has roped in Jain, a businessman who is involved with the party since 2011, to woo the community. Since the Paryushan fiasco a few years back, the party wants the Jain community to support MNS.
Mahendra Jain told the Mid-Day that, “We have never been against the community, we were only opposing the government’s plan to extend the shutting of slaughter houses for eight days, and it was about this. My speech came from my heart as Modi ji has been fooling the nation and that is why I have asked my community to not vote for him.” MNS is trying to expand with an eye on the upcoming Assembly elections in Maharashtra. The MNS chief though his party not contesting elections have toured across state to oppose the BJP and have asked people to not to vote for Modi.
