Nanded: The family of the former chief minister of Maharashtra Ashok Chavan has plunged into an election mode, with his daughter Sujaya now joining her father on his campaign trail in Nanded. Mumbai-educated Sujaya has been camping in Nanded, holding street corner meetings with the locals.
She has also expressed her desire to join politics. Sujaya will be the third generation Chavan to enter politics, if she follows her wish. Her grandfather was Shankarrao Chavan, the former chief minister of Maharashtra and union home and defence minister.

Her father Ashok Chavan was the chief minister of Maharashtra from 2008 to 2010. Ashok Chavan’s wife Ameeta too has contested the assembly polls and is the MLA from Bhokar, Nanded. Ashok Chavan is contesting yet again from Nanded. The Congress party in Nanded has swung into action in support of Chavan and now, he also has help from the homefront.
