Ashutosh reveals on an expensive ancient iconictrend in Egypt where high-ranking men would have hair on their chins dyed and later plaited with gold thread. “The Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, Otto the Great, had such a massive beard that he would often swear by it when saying something serious. While beards and moustaches may have gone in and out of fashion over time, they seldom ever disappeared. Historians, philosophers, leaders and famous personalities have sported beards at one point or another. Examples are Abraham Lincoln, Genghis Khan, Charlie Chaplin, ZZ Top, Hulk Hogan, Amitabh Bachchan and recently, Virat Kohli and Shahid Kapoor,” he reveals. Who can forget cricketers Ravinder Jadeja and Shikhar Dhawan?
Beards and moustaches never left a stylish man’s face, but they would definitely disappear for a while to return with a bang. Priyank feels that keeping a beard is not just mere trend, but is, in fact, a tradition. “In most parts of the world, you will see communities with different beard styles. For e.g., bikers tend to keep a more dense beard all around the world. While most men in European countries like a thin moustache, Indian men keep dark and thick moustaches with light beard.”
There are quite a few attractive trends for our look-conscious men. While you can choose to go for the man beard, which happens to be unrefined form of dark dense beard, you can choose to go for the trimmed stubble. Anyone with such well-kept stubble comes across as mature and with alluring manliness. Just keep in mind that only a man with well-toned physique can carry this look.
The popular and safer goatee will give a classy corporate look, along with a fun edge. It especially suits an older man as it is quite trendy and modern, apart from hiding the odd wrinkles. Another popular but risky moustache would be the handlebar moustache, which according to the duo, is not for everyone to pull off. However, the right person would look fantastic. Ranveer Singh’s latest look is a prime example.
On the popularity chart, you can find a French beard, which allows men to put on an aura of maturity. This look is both suave and chic. As it takes time and effort to keep a frenchie in shape, only a poised man would and should go for this well-kept beard. Then, there is your thin moustache to add class to your face. Priyank starts by suggesting all to wash and rinse the beard on a monthly basis while Ashutosh says stroking beards daily by hand for a few times gives it a preferred shape. “Combing the beard also helps keep it a certain way. Your beard’s appearance also depends on the way you style it,” he adds.
