California: Tech giant Apple is working on OS X feature that would allow Mac computers to be unlocked using an iPhone’s fingerprint reader and Touch ID.
This new auto-unlock feature may come in the next big Mac OS refresh, the Verge quoted MacRumors.
Users need to install a Mac app on their iPhone or Apple Watch to unlock their Mac. The software works by having you install an app on your computer, input your password there, and then gesture on either the phone or watch screen to initiate the unlock.
The new feature is said to be previewed in new Mac at Apple’s WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) next month.
