Cairo : India’s campaign in PSA Men’s World squash championship ended after national champion Saurav Ghosal crashed out of the tournament in the second round here.

The Indian ace, pitted against the second seeded Gregory Gaultier of France, went down 7-11 2-11 3-11 in a contest that lasted just 34 minutes.

Ghosal simply failed to match up to his opponent’s efficiency and lost the match rather tamely.

Earlier, in the opening round of the competition, Ghosal had notched up a fighting 11-7 11-13 11-9 12-10 victory over Adrian Waller of England.

Ghosal was the only Indian male in the main draw after qualifier Mahesh Mangaonkar had lost his match.

Two other Indians who had made a bid for the main draw but failed to make it were Harinder Pal Sandhu and Vikram Malhotra, both of whom lost in the second and final round of the qualification phase.–PTI
