Michelle Kakade becomes first person to complete the Indian Golden Quadrilateral on foot.

Mumbai : Pune’s Michelle Kakade has made her way into the Guinness Book of World Records as the first person to complete the Indian Golden Quadrilateral on foot.

Michelle, a 47-year-old mother of two children and wife of businessman Anil Kakade, received the acknowledgement and her certificate from Guinness after strict verification of her run, a media release said today.

The certificate notes “the fastest time to travel the Indian Golden Quadrilateral on foot by a female in 193 days, one hour and nine minutes and was achieved by Michelle Kakade (India) between 21 October 2015 and 1 May 2016”.

She would feature in the Guinness World Records for covering 5968.4 kms of the Golden Quadrilateral that connects the four major metros of the country.

The breakdown of distances is: Mumbai to Delhi – 1514.2 kms; Delhi to Kolkata – 1542.18 kms, Kolkata to Chennai – 1554.49 kms and Chennai to Mumbai – 1357.53 kms.

“I’m thrilled that my attempt has been recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records. This is my first world record and I’m truly inspired,” Michelle, a triple record holder of the Limca Book of Indian Records,” said.

“My run was dedicated to the millions of women in our country who are battling every day for survival purely on the basis of their gender,” added Michelle who has taken part in full and half marathon races in the past.
