Bangalore : Bangalore: After a great qualifying session on Saturday, Nayan Chatterjee overcame a tricky start to secure third place at the JK Tyre FMSCI National Rotax Karting Championship 2016 in Bangalore on Sunday.

It was a good day for the Chatterjee brothers, as Nayan’s younger brother Mrinal finished in seventh place in just his first Senior Max season.

During the race, Nayan overcame significant adversity due to his steering mount being out of place.

In Nayan’s own words – ‘My steering column was off the hook, and it was pretty tough to turn. I had to press down the steering wheel everytime!’

Meco Motorsports mentor and international driver Armaan Ebrahim concurs, and adds that ‘When that happens, it’s extremely tough for the driver, since he can lose confidence. Your only way of controlling the car is unstable. Most people might have lost confidence, but Nayan managed to overcome it all and still achieve a podium finish!’

Despite falling back to 6th position on the first lap, Nayan managed to claw his way back into the race, by applying constant pressure on his competitors, eventually passing them, and clinching a podium finish.
