Mihika Rohira wins decider to enter into semi-finals

Mumbai : Unseeded Mihika Rohira upset third seed Aditi Sinha in a thriller to enter the junior girls semi-finals, in the Chembur Gymkhana Mumbai Suburban District Ranking Table Tennis Tournament.

Rohira kicked off a rewarding day with a 10-12, 11-7, 11-6, 11-6, 7-11, 7-11, 11-8 win over the attacking Sinha after leading 3-1 and staving off a late challenge. Later, Rohira eased past Tia D’Souza in straight games to advance to the sub junior girls semi-finals.

Unseeded Sampada Bhiwandkar of Jasudben ML School caused the other upset of the day when she rallied from a 1-2 deficit to beat fourth seed Sheefa Shaikh 11-4, 8-11, 11-13, 11-4, 11-5 to enter the sub junior girls semi-finals. Sampada also made it to the cadet girls semi-finals following a straight games win.

Rajveer Shah, Havish Asrani, Dev Shroff, Hrishikesh Malhotra and Manasi Chiplunkar were among the other significant winners.
