Eight killed in Pakistan court bomb attack

Islamabad: At least eight people were killed and 14 injured on Monday in a suicide attack in the premises of a court in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, police said. The attacker was intercepted by police stationed in the premises as he attempted to enter the court, Dawn online quoted district police officer Sohail Khalid as saying.

The police fired at the attacker who detonated explosives, Khalid said. Security and emergency teams reached the site and cordoned off the area, the officer added.
The casualties were transferred to nearby hospital.
