Indore: Municipal commissioner Pratibha Pal here on Tuesday directed civic body officials to gird their loins to deal with upcoming monsoon.
In a review meeting, she asked officials to be prepared for the possible emergency situations arising out of waterlogging, excessive rains and floods during on monsoon.
Pal said that the areas where waterlogging occurred last year should be identified and steps should be taken so that this year the same situation does not arise.
She directed officials to make sure that the drainage line does go into the stormwater line and stormwater line water does not go into sewerage.
“No drainage line chambers should be without lid,” she said.
She also directed to make arrangement for shifting people living in low lying areas to other places. Besides, she stated that dilapidated building should be identified and those found dangerous should be demolished.
She stated that complaints received at IMC control room should be resolved as early as possible.
