Indore : Two persons were conned out of their vehicles by conmen in two separate incidents. Police have registered cases and are investigating.

According to the police, the first incident occurred near the petrol pump opposite to Sayaji Hotel in Vijay Nagar area on Thursday morning. The victim was Premkumar Verma (34), a resident of Shradha Colony.

Verma had purchased a new scooter and had run out of petrol and was pushing his scooter towards the petrol pump opposite to Sayaji Hotel.

Two youths met him on the way and began chatting up to him and as he was engrossed in the talk one of them took hold of the scooter and began pushing it.

Verma let go of the scooter and was busy talking to the other youth and when he excused himself he turned to see where his scooter was only to find it gone along with the youth. The scooter also had bag containing Rs 19000.

He then tried to locate the other youth but he too had vanished. After searching the area for his scooter, Verma finally filed a complaint with the Vijay Nagar Police.

The second incident occurred in the premises of Bombay Hospital on Thursday afternoon. A man called one Hariom, a resident of village Badoli Houz under Depalpur block, expressing his desire to purchase Hariom’s motorcycle.

The man arranged a meeting at Bombay Hospital parking lot. After physically checking the vehicle the man asked for a test ride and Hariom handed over the key.

However, he realized the risk involved and tried to stop the man but by that time he had started the motorcycle and drove out of the hospital.

Hariom chased with the help of another man’s motorcycle but to no avail. Finally he filed a complaint with the police. The police have registered separate cases in both incidents and are investigating further.
