Indore : A departmental probe was ordered on Saturday against two policemen for allegedly accepting bribe of Rs 100 from a truck driver for entering residential area in odd hours. The driver was unloading sand at a building being constructed by Nitesh Jain on Street No 1 in Nanda Nagar area on wee hours of Friday.

Constables Chandra Swaroop and Suresh Lashkari, who were deployed in PCR Van-16, approached the truck and asked for Rs 100 bribe to refrain from acting against the truck driver for moving the heavy vehicle in a restricted area. They apparently were paid off. The constables accepted taking bribe in a phone conversation, which was recorded and sent to DIG Rakesh Gupta.
Gupta attached the constables to police lines and ordered a departmental probe into the matter.
