Indore : Four men in a red Maruti van kidnapped three minor girls from Rau. However, when the van stopped near the collectorate, the girls managed to escape. Later, their families filed an official complaint and police have registered cases against four unidentified persons and are investigating the matter.

According to TI, Rau, Vijay Sisodiya, the girls were kidnapped from Patel Nagar around 4:30 pm, on Tuesday. The girls were identified as Saloni (14) a resident of Patel Nagar, Rani Birla (13) and Vasudha Mali (11). The trio were on their way to Saloni’s aunt’s house in the same neighbourhood when they were abducted.

Saloni told the police that the van stopped nearby, and three youths got down and covering their mouths with their hands forced them into the van. Fear paralysed the girls.

The men drove to Lalbagh via Reti Mandi and Manikbagh. There one of the men got down and began talking to someone leaving the girls and the driver in the van.

Taking advantage, the girls got out of the van and ran away. The driver had tried to chase them but the girls started shouting. This forced the driver to get back into the van and the four men then fled the spot.

The girls then went to their uncle’s house in Bhanwarkuwa area and narrated the whole incident. The uncle then drove them home and informed their families after which they went to the police station to file a complaint.

After registering the cases under Section 363 of the IPC, the police began sifting through the CCTV footage from the cameras in the area. Meanwhile, the girls’ statements are being recorded to help in the investigation.
