Indore : An intensive searching shocked hundreds of inmates lodged in the District Jail as a heavy police contingent entered the barracks and searched every nook and corner on Saturday evening. Some sharpened objects made from iron strips were recovered from inmates.
ASP Simala Prasad accompanied with two CSPs, four police station in-charges and 150 police personnel reached the district jail in the evening for searching.
The exercise lasted for more than two hours where the police force frisked each inmate lodged in 8 barracks and also launched an intensive search inside the jail.
“Though, no arms were recovered from the jail barracks, the police recovered a long and sharp weapon made by a forceps looking like a long knife” ASP Simala Prasad told Free Press. Besides, some sharpened objects made from iron sheet and razor were also recovered, she added.
