Indore : School of Life Sciences is in tatters. With the ongoing infighting among teaching staff of this department, there’s nobody to look after it as HoD Suresh Chand went on leave on Friday.
“Teachers of the department are on winter vacation. Only I from the teaching staff was left in the department. For some urgent work, I too have to take leave so charge was given to School of Biotechnology head Anil Kumar,” Chand said.
Sources in the university claimed that Chand called up a few teachers asking them to cut short their vacation and look after HoD charge on his back but none agreed.
“One teacher had initially agreed (to take the charge) but he denied when Chand rejected approving earned leave (EL) for working period,” the sources added. Chand and other teachers of the department do not share good rapport with others.
In fact, they often are seen indulging in fights. Anil Kumar had three charges on Friday – his own department, School of Life Sciences and the VC’s office. Vice Chancellor Prof DP Singh was also on leave on Friday.
