Indore : Police have arrested four persons of a gang in connection with more than half-a-dozen loots perpetrated in Palasia, Ring Road and Khargone. They have also recovered as many as nine mobile phones and an Indica Car looted by the accused along with a motorcycle used in the loots.

According to the police, the breakthrough came when gang leader Rehan Khan (23) of Azad Nagar was nabbed while he was waiting for his accomplices following a tip off. During interrogation, Rehan named Zahid alias Ganju (19) of Azad Nagar, Sonu alias Mohamed Ali and Rizwan alias Mama of Char Nal Chouraha, who were involved in a number of loots. Based on the information provided by Rehan, the police arrested Zahid and Rizwan while Sonu is still absconding.

The accused consumed liquor on May 14 at Azad Nagar Hockey Ground and later went on looting spree from Pipaliyhana Service Road, Scheme No 94 and Teen Imli Chouraha to Khargone.  The police have recovered nine looted mobile phones of Spice, Micromax, Karbon etc and Indica Vista car along with the motorcycle and weapons used in the loots. The accused targeted a truck driver Ramesh on Pipaliyhana Service Road around 12.30 am and after stabbing him in his leg they looted his mobile phone and Rs 1500.

They were joined by the third accused and together they looted Indica Vista car from Hemlata around 12.45 am near overhead water tank of Scheme No 94 while she was learning driving with her husband.  At Pipliyahana Square, they intercepted Shubham Pal and snatched his motorcycle and fled towards Vindhyachal College where they looted two mobile phones and Rs 700 cash around 1:30 am from a trader Satish Trivedi.

The accused then fled towards Khargone taking the car and two motorcycles with them where they stopped a truck and looted mobile phone from the driver Parasram Prajapti. Finally, the accused turned towards Khandwa Road where they looted Kapil, Mahesh, and Vikas when they stopped to quench their thrust and in the process injured them with sharp edged weapons.
