Indore: Highlighting the mysterious deaths of the people involved in Vyapam scam, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court on Tuesday seeking a probe by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the unnatural deaths occurring in past one and a half year.

Petitioner Valmik Sakargayan said the petition requests CBI probe into mysterious deaths of people involved in the scam and it has nothing to do with the ongoing investigation in the case.

His advocate Amit Upadhaya said when the CBI can be roped in the RTI activist Shehla Masood murder case and Durgesh Jat murder case, in which former minister Kamal Patel is an accused, why can’t it be entrusted the cases related to the mysterious deaths of more than 40 people associated with the scam. Upadhaya said that the family members of the deceased do not have trust in the investigations carried out by the STF so the court should order for CBI probe to instill feeling of justice among people. “We have requested the court to take a cognizance of the case,” he added.
