Indore : A pall of gloom descended on Dakachya when body of Karthik Mishra, who was abducted and murdered, over professional rivalry between his father and a medical store owner Ashok Mishra and another medical store owner Subhash Patidar, reached the village on Friday afternoon.

Grief-stricken villagers had gathered in large numbers to pay tributes to the deceased and console the bereaved family.

Since morning, the villagers were waiting for Karthik’s body to arrive but the deceased’s father was so heartbroken that he refused their help. He carried the body himself and then brought it back and loaded it in the rear seat of his car. Mishra, his wife Kirti and daughter Shreya were riding in the front seat and some relatives followed in another car to Bhamouri cremation ground where Karthik was consigned to flames. Mishra’s lack of confidence in the villagers did not deter them one bit and they demanded death for the accused.
