Indore : More than 3.72 lakh students, including around 2.06 lakh boys and around 1.66 lakh girls, registered for centralised online counselling for admissions in undergraduate courses offered by government and private colleges in the state.

On the last day of registrations on Thursday, thousands of students thronged MP Online kiosks in the city to register for the counselling. The registration window shut late in the evening.

Indore division additional director (higher education) Dr Narendra Dhakad said: “A total of 3,72,390 students registered for the counselling. The figure this year is higher than last year’s.”

Last year, about 3.5 lakh students had registered for the counseling. Dhakad said that the registration’s figure went up due to new courses started by several colleges in the state.

Along with registrations, the verification of academic documents of students was also underway. So far, nearly 2.5 lakh students documents have been verified.

The verifications will continue till June 22. The staff engaged in documents verification has been instructed to work June 21 (Sunday).

The first list of students allocated colleges will be declared on June 25. For seats remained vacant at colleges, the second round of counselling will be conducted from July 4 to 7.

If seats remained vacant after second round of counselling, the college will be allowed to fill the vacancies through college level counselling (CLC) to be held on July 16 and 17.

Open counselling from July 25-28

For seats remained vacant even after CLC, the colleges will be allowed to conduct open counselling from July 25 to 28. This is for the first time, the DHE has permitted colleges to fill vacancies on their own. Colleges with minority institute status will not be able to take benefit of this new provision added to centralised online counselling.
