Indore:  Special Judge PK Sinha, on Friday, sentenced a drug-peddler to one year rigorous imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs 2000. Failure to pay the fine will result in additional imprisonment of one month. It may be recalled that the then TI of MG Road police station, Dilip Gangrade, received tip-off on June 3, 2011 that one Gagan alias Chintu Vak of DRP Lines, smuggles narcotics through Lakshmibai Nagar Station and was on his way to

Rajwada to deliver the contraband. Accordingly, Gangrade and his team nabbed Gagan from Shantipath and a search on his person revealed 2.5 kg ganja. Gagan was booked under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act. After hearing, Special Judge PK Sinha, on Friday sentenced Gagan to one year of imprisonment and fined him Rs 2000 and added that failure to pay the fine will result in additional imprisonment of one month.
