Indore : Following the decision by the State cabinet, the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has decided to reduce the age limit of government job aspirants from other states from the existing 40 years to 35 years.
The new age limit criterion would be implemented from the Assistant Additional Prosecution Officer (ADPO) exam.
On Dec 22, the MPPSC had published advertisement for filling as many as 251 posts of ADPO and invited applications from January 14 to February 13.
The exam date was fixed for June 5 and maximum age limit for both the state and out of state candidates was 40 years.
However, the state cabinet in its recent meeting passed a proposal to lower the age limit of other state candidates for government jobs in Madhya Pradesh.
Following the development, the MPPSC suspended application form submission dates.
MPPSC secretary Manohar Dubey said that application form submission dates were suspended so that new criterion for age limit could be introduced from ADPO selection process.
“We are waiting for the gazette notification to be published on the new age limit criterion. Once it is published, we will make necessary changes in the eligibility norms and invite application forms for ADPO exam,” he said.
Dubey said that the MPPSC tentatively invited applications for ADPO from January 29 to February 28. “There will be no change in the exam date,” he added.
