Indore : Members of Khandelwal community met Deputy Inspector General Rakesh Gupta on Friday and complained that MG Road police was not taking seriously the case of mysterious disappearance of Advocate Devendra Khandelwal.

The delegation members alleged that they feared Devendra had been kidnapped over a property dispute involving Rs 50 lakh.

The lawyer has been missing since December 23 when two men Mahendra Thakur and Bhupendra Shukla came to meet him in the court premises. Subsequently, Devendra went in a car with two others. His cell-phone too is switched off ever since, they said. Taking notice of the matter, the DIG directed the MG Road police station cops to proactively investigate the matter.
