Indore : The campaign launched last month against milk and other milk products has started giving result. Out of 11 failed food samples, seven samples are of milk and milk products. The tests also proved mixing of water in milk and curd.
During a meeting held at the Collector office on Tuesday, ADM Dilip Kumar reviewed the progress of special drive launched last month against sale of adulterated food items. It may be recalled that during the campaign, a total of 123 samples were collected and sent for lab testing in Bhopal. However, the reports of 55 samples have been received as yet.
Out of them, 11 samples failed the lab test and interestingly seven of them were milk and milk products. After the meeting, ADM Kumar said that 7 milk and milk products were found adulterated. Now the food department is going to issue challans against the adulterators in the court.
Kumar further said that he had ordered to lodge FIRs against a gas agency. The agency was found indulging in malpractices. As per the instructions of Collector P. Narahari, each food inspector was asked to collect at least 10 samples of food items in a month and send them for lab testing in Bhopal.
