Man, relatives booked for dowry harassment

Indore: The police, on Tuesday, have registered cases of dowry harassment against husband and in-laws of a newly-married woman. According to Jyoti Verma, TI, Mahila Police Station, the complaint was filed by Reena (25) resident of Mayur Nagar and cases were registered against her husband Anil Vyas, sister-in-law Rama Dube and father-in-law Radheyshyam.

In her complaint, Reena told the police that she got married to Anil Vyas of Dheeraj Nagar on January 24. This was her second marriage and her husband and his family had known the fact. Two days after the marriage, her father-in-law Radheyshyam told her that Anil has illicit relationship with another woman known to the family and the family had agreed to marriage because they thought Anil may mend his ways afterwards.

Reena then confronted her husband Anil who retaliated by beating Reena and then demanding Rs 5 lakh for business. Reena refused whereupon Anil, with help of his sister and father, kicked her out of house.
