KHANDWA (MADHYA PRADESH): Neelam Prajapat, a minor girl of Punasa block, has proved that human spirit can assail any odds. She is securing first division in studies despite is losing her parents, 10 years ago.
Neelam is a resident of Mudai village of Gram Panchayat. Her sibling Sangeeta Prajapat is only other person in her family.
Both sisters live alone, work in farms to support themselves and their studies. The elder sibling is 19 years while Neelam is only 17 years.
On learning about these girls, the Project Officer Rajendra Singh Solanki, immediately reached village and took initiative to enroll them under the 'Foster Care Scheme' with the help of Women Child Development supervisor Sheela Saware and Anganwadi worker Chopre.
The valor displayed by girls is commendable, he said. Solanki has vowed to help them with their studies and to make sure that they get all the possible help from the government.
On August 15, 2021, both the girls will be feted with the 'Balika Gallantry Award' by the Department of Women and Child Development. An amount of Rs 1,100 and a certificate of appreciation will be given to both the girls.
