LIC officer’s murder: 3 arrested, prime accused still on the run

Indore: City police on Thursday arrested three persons in connection with the murder of LIC officer Yatin Pise in Dwarkapuri area recently. However, the prime accused is on the run till filing this report. SSP has released a sketch of the main accused and announced a reward of Rs 30,000 on his arrest.  The assailants had also stabbed two other persons in a bid to rob them after killing LIC officer.

Senior superintendent of police Ruchi Vardhan Mishra said that Pise was stabbed to death when he was coming out of an ATM booth near Shubham Hospital after withdrawing money at around 8 pm on April 3, 2019.  After stabbing Pise, accused also injured a person named Rajesh Sajnani in a bid to rob him. They were rushed to the hospital. Later, police reached at the hospital and took statement of injured Rajesh Sajnani who informed that Pise was taken to MY Hospital. By the time police team reached the hospital, Pise succumbed to injuries.

Police later examined the CCTVs and found a person taking out a knife near the spot. After attacking Pise and Rajesh, accused also tried to attack a youth in Dwarkapuri. The youth somehow saved self after entering a shop. The woman shop owner scolded the accused when he fled the scene. Police later recovered the CCTVs of the shop where accused was captured and his face was clear.

On the same night, another stabbing incident was reported at Annapurna police station in which a pharma company employee was stopped by two bikers and one of them stabbed the victim. A person with same appearance was captured in the CCTVs of the spot.

During the investigation, police came to know that the person with same appearance was nabbed by Bhanwarkuan police in a stabbing case last year. Police matched the appearances after which police reached at the residence of Rahul alias Manish Thakur of Tapeshwaribagh Colony when people informed that he is staying in Chandan Nagar area presently.

Police managed to trace his house in Chandan Nagar area and but it was found locked. The people of the area identified the accused after they were shown the CCTV footages of Dwarkapuri incident.  Police later reached at the liquor shop where Rahul and his accomplices had consumed liquor before the incident. The employee of the Ahata told the police that there were four persons on two bikes. After consuming liquor, they stabbed two persons near Shubham Hospital while snatching a purse.

Police received a tip-off was that three suspects are roaming on bike a without registration number near Sirpur Lake after which police cordoned off the area and managed to arrest three of the accused. They have been identified as Chintaman alias Ashish Meshram of Panchmurti Nagar, Golu alias Pushpendra Bhuriya of Chandan Nagar and Shyam Narvariya of Vyas Nagar. A country made pistol and two knifes were also recovered from their possession. Main accused Rahul is on the run till filing this report. The arrested accused reportedly confessed to the crime.
