Mhow: Ahead of dhulendi and Rangpanchami, excise department on Thursday raided a house at Gujarkheda in Mhow and seized a large quantity of illicit liquor which they believe was going to be sold during the festivals.
According information, police seized 57 cartons of country liquor and the market value of this stock was said to be around Rs 2.5 lakh. Team arrested Rakesh Maratha and Rakesh Lodhi, while Shubham and his mother Pushpa managed to flee from the spot. Excise department officer informed that the raid was conducted after they got a tip off.
“All the officials will be kept on field to check illicit liquor trade. Prompt action on any clue regarding making, transporting or selling of illicit liquor will be taken,” the excise official said.
