Indore: Rohit Sethi, the alleged prime accused in Sandeep Agarwal alias Sandeep Tel murder case, was arrested by Dehradun police on Sunday evening while he was waiting for a bus at Deendayal Park Bus Stand there. The local police arrested him with 112 gram charas.
However, speculation is rife that he planned his arrest so that he could avoid penal action in Indore where he was booked for murder. Though police said he purchased charas for self-consumption from Hardwar, it is being said that he bought the drug to get himself arrested under the provisions of NDPS Act. Certain provisions of Act leave no scope for bail for a long time.
If those provision are applied on Sethi, then he wouldn’t have to face murder trial immediately in Indore. It is suspected that in a bid to evade immediate penal action in Indore, he got himself arrested for charas purchase as by the time he would be out of jail, the Indore case would stand diluted. There is another speculation that he broke his hand after falling in Haridwar.
This injury would make police to go soft on him. Notwithstanding the arrest theory, the fact remains that the case requires in-depth investigation as the police would have to probe multiple angles in it.
