Indore: Residents of Scheme No 140 facing water crisis staged a protest near an overhead water tank in the locality which was constructed about four years ago but is not been used to supply water as yet.
Indore Municipal Corporation had constructed overhead water tank at Scheme No 140 in 2015. But it was not used to supply water as yet.
On Friday, the residents gathered near the tank and staged protest. On learning about this, Indore-5 MLA Mahendra Hardia reached the scene. After talking to residents, he called up IMC senior engineer Harbhajan Singh. Singh informed the MLA that the IMC had planned to start supply from the tank from March 31.
“For some days testing will be done after supply will be made through the tank,” he told residents after which the protest ended.
