Indore: After 3000 students from Bihar created ruckus at city railway station on Tuesday night, a local court on Wednesday directed two students to stand till the court rises and imposed a fine of Rs 600 on each. Two students were arrested following the Tuesday incident.
LV Singh, assistant commandant, Railway Police Force, Ratlam division, said RPF had arrested two students – Abhisek Kumar son of Ramdulare Sharma from Gaya district and Vikas Kumar son of Sanjay Kumar resident of Aurangabad district under Sections 222/19, 174A, 147 Railways Act.
RN Sunkar, DRM Ratlam division, said keeping in view the ruckus created at city railway station platform number 4, other railway stations were alerted for deployment of RPF to tackle any situation. At Bina station, the students were shifted to other coaches from S-6, S-7 and S-8 compartments.
The students from Bihar were in city to appear for assistant loco pilot examination. They were returning to Bihar from Indore-Howrah Kshipra train. Passenger Dharmendra Jain, a trader who was along with more than 250 members of Jain community to Sammed Shikarji, said students occupied reserved berths. Most of them were without tickets. When ticket holders reached berths, they refused to vacate seats. For about 45 minutes, students raised ruckus by pelting stones on coaches and stopped the train by standing ahead of engine.
