Indore: RTO cracks down on vehicles in Dhar, Barwani

Indore: With an aim to achieve target of Rs 551 crore in current financial year, local road transport officers have begun crack down on vehicles running in other districts without permit. Assistant regional transport officer Nisha Chouhan said a team of officials will go to Dhar on March 12 and to Barwani on March 13 for taking action against buses and other vehicles, which are running there without permit and by not depositing the tax.

“A bus plying between Indore and Khargone was seized on Monday for plying without permit. Along with it, an Eicher truck was also seized on which tax of Rs 62,000 was due,” Chouhan said. She said over Rs 6.67 lakh were recovered on Monday as 74 vehicle owners deposited tax.  The RTO officials are working on holidays too to achieve the revenue target of Rs 551 crore against which they have recovered over Rs 490 crore. Efforts are being made to achieve it 100 per cent.
