Indore: Undergraduate courses curricula would be revised to prepare students for competitive exams like All India Services exams. Under All India Services, exams including Indian Administrative Services (IAS), Indian Forest Services (IFS) and Indian Police Services (IPS) are conducted.

In a letter addressed to universities and colleges, the commissioner (higher education) stated that the 17.7 point of state government’s resolution letter states that such type of education would be provided at the academic institutions which prepare students for competitive exams like All India Services exams.

“For that purpose, the under-graduate course curricula have to be revised. For revision, suggestions have to be collected from the stakeholders,” the letter reads. It adds that one day workshop of subject experts would be held at Bhopal for the purpose.

Hailing the government’s move, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) registrar Ajay Verma stated that the students should be make competitive exams ready at college level besides being given subject knowledge only. He stated that the university would play its role in revision of the curriculum as per the wish of the government.
