Indore: Premature baby saved by doctors leaves hospital healthy

Doctors of a private hospital in the city saved life of a baby born premature.

Indore: Doctors of a private hospital in the city saved life of a baby born premature. The baby weighed only 650 grams at the time of birth. The baby was delivered 16 weeks before the scheduled time. The baby gained about 2 kilograms weight and was discharged healthy from the hospital on Friday.

According to gynecologist Dr Asha Baxi, “Rehan Bansal, son of Priyanka Bansal, was born three months ago after a premature delivery. Her mother had a pregnancy of 23 weeks at the time of delivery. She was having high blood pressure and other complications due to which we had to get her deliver the premature baby about 16 weeks before the scheduled date.”

“It was challenge for us to manage the health of the premature baby. Not only feeding but changing his clothes, taking him on lap and every activity was a challenge for us,” said Pediatrician Dr Abha Jain.

She said that the baby recovered well and now he is about 2.6 kilograms. The mother and baby were discharged from the hospital in healthy condition. The doctors claimed it a rare and challenging case in the medical history of the city.
