Indore: On the occasion of International Day of Yoga, a joint yoga session for trainees of subsidiary training centres and Central School of Weapons and Tactics CSWT was organised at Bijasan campus of Border Security Force on Friday.
Speaking to media, deputy commandant, IG Parvinder Singh Bhains said, “Close to a 1,100 trainees and staffers of BSF and Rajasthan, UP police participated in the event. The programme started at 7 am and continued till 8 am.”
During one-hour session, 45 minutes were exclusively dedicated for yoga while remaining 15 minutes were taken by Art of Living representatives to motivate trainees to continue exercising yoga all life as long as it plays vital role in keeping the body fit and active.
Bhains added, “The BSF personnel works in extreme weather conditions. Yoga plays an important role keeping in mind mental and physical balance in such conditions. Thus yoga was prescribed to trainees.”
Apart from trainees of BSF, the newly appointed trainees of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh police too participated in the event.
The gathering followed the yoga postures performed by deputy commandant Rakesh Paliwal. On the occasion, yoga-themed quiz competition, slogan writing competition and article writing competition were also organised.
