Indore: While it is struggling to find out student who has lodged a complaint of ragging on Sunday, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) on Monday received an email from Anti- Ragging Helpline of UGC informing it about another complaint.
The latest complaint has been filed by a student of Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), an entity of DAVV. In his complaint, the student claimed that he has been tortured mentally and physically by seniors. He claimed that he had lodged complaints twice previously with authorities of the institute but to no avail.
Forwarding the complaint to the IET, Anti-Ragging Helpline directed the institute to identify the victim and assure him/her that his/her plight would be addressed. After receiving the complaint, IET director Sanjeev Tokekar said that they have convened a meeting of antiragging committee on Tuesday to address the issue.
He, however, stated that it would be difficult to find out accused students as their names have not been mentioned in the complaint. “The complaint is of general nature,” he added. IET has around 2,000 students. The institute would have to talk individually to each of them to identity the victim and the accused.
