Even as the city temperature crossed the 40 degrees Celsius mark, the deadly swine flu has been continuously spreading its tentacles as one more patients succumbed to the disease on Monday. With this, the total number of deaths stood at 53 so far. Meanwhile, a team of deputy director of Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme too audited the deaths in the city to learn about the exact reason of deaths.
IDSP control room in-charge Sunil Sahu said, “A state level team of IDSP had visited the city and audited the deaths of the patients. The team recorded about the health history of the patient and also about their treatment line.” The team found that most of the deceased were those who were already suffering from any disease and had low immunity.
Meanwhile, nodal officer of IDSP Dr Santosh Sisodiya said, “A 55-year-old male patient succumbed to the disease on Monday. He was admitted to CHL Hospital and his samples were tested positive March 19.” Total number of positive patients in Indore reached to 180, since January 1.
Department to monitor sun stroke cases too
With the sudden rise in temperature, IDSP has started monitoring the patients of sun stroke as well. Usually, the monitoring of sun stroke cases was started after April 15 but it as the temperature had crossed 40 degrees Celsius mark, a couple of days ago, due to which the monitoring has started early. However, out of 1900 patients reached to the OPDs of government hospitals, no patient of sun stroke was reported on Monday.
