Indore: With hot winds blowing from country’s western region, the city temperature remained above 42 degrees Celsius on the second consecutive day on Wednesday, which was the fifth day of Nautapa. It is considered the hottest nine-day period of year. With increasing temperature and dry weather, citizens didn’t get relief from scorching heat. Officials of regional meteorological department said temperature will continue to rise in coming days and hot winds will sweep region for next couple of days.
On Wednesday, city recorded maximum temperature of 42.4 degrees Celsius while the night temperature too remained high at 26.2 degrees Celsius, which was two degrees above normal. “Winds blowing from west direction are taking toll on night temperature and hot winds coming from neighbouring states can push it in coming days,” weathermen said adding, “There may be chances of cloudy weather after couple of days due to pre monsoon activities, which can provide relief from scorching heat.” The humidity recorded on Wednesday morning was 39 percent and 17 percent in the evening.
