Indore: MLA Ramesh Mendola on Saturday said that the city is going back to normalcy slowly and if people continue to follow COVID norms strictly, it will come out of it totally.
Mendola was talking to Free Press while inspecting the vaccination centre at Free Press House on Saturday.
“We have seen the worst time in the last two months but we have now passed the difficult time. The situation was so bad that I still get goosebumps just thinking about it. A large number of people were searching for beds, oxygen, and medicines across the city,” he said adding “We tried to help maximum number of people, and my day started with helping them, but the number of patients appeared endless,” he added.
The MLA also praised the philanthropists of the city and said that they appealed to them for helping the needy and many people came forward to provide oxygen, medicines, and other things to save lives.
“During crisis management committee meeting, we raised the issue of poor people, mainly the daily wagers and appealed to the Chief Minister to provide some relief to them during the lockdown and also by providing aid. We are also distributing rations to the people to tide over the tough time,” Mendola added.
He appealed to the people to follow COVID protocols strictly to avoid such a situation again in the city.
