Indore: Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College administration has crossed its fingers as it hopes to get an approval for the hike in post-graduate seats in pathology department from Medical Council of India (MCI). The college administration is confident of getting the increment in seats as a peer team of MCI inspected the facilities in the college on Monday.
Recently, the college administration had applied for increment and approval for as many as 13 PG seats in PSM department, Pathology department and Physiology department. An MCI inspector, from Telangana, inspected facilities in pathology department and check the facilities, equipments and head counts. The MCI inspector had also checked facilities in the blood bank and facilities in MY Hospital’s pathology as well.
According to college’s spokesperson Dr Rahul Rokade, “College has applied for increment in 13 PG seats in three disciplines including PSM, Pathology and Physiology. We have applied for increment of six PG seats in pathology department while three seats in physiology and rest in PSM department.”
Meanwhile, MGM Medical College administration has also directed all the faculty members to be alert and present in the college for next few days as inspection of MCI for increased 10 (140 to150) MBBS seats can take place anytime in next few days.“We are expecting inspection of MCI for the increased 10 UG seats and directed the staff to present at the time of inspection,” dean of MGM Medical College Dr Jyoti Bindal said.
