Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Hindu organisation activists gathered late at night at Vijay Nagar Square to protest against pubs operating beyond permissible hours. A large number of demonstrators assembled at the location, prompting heavy police deployment.

Authorities set up barricades and contained the protestors to prevent any escalation. The protest stemmed from an incident on Maha Shivratri when a Bhajan Sandhya at the Goddess Kali Temple in Vijay Nagar was stopped by the police, citing official directives. This move angered the temple priest and devotees, leading to the late-night demonstration.

To control the situation, forces from three police stations, along with senior officials, were stationed at the site. The activists demanded the closure of pubs and clubs, arguing that religious gatherings were being restricted while nightlife continued. Some protestors were seen standing outside clubs, video-calling their associates to confirm whether the establishments had been shut down. Many sat on the road and began reciting Hanuman Chalisa as a form of protest.

According to temple priest Rahul Yadav, the Bhajan Sandhya was stopped while pubs were allowed to operate late into the night. Hindu organisations had already announced their plans to gather in large numbers, including priests, saints, students, members of Karni Sena, and other activists, to enforce the closure of pubs and clubs. They also intended to submit a memorandum to the police regarding their demands. The situation remains tense for hours, with a strong police presence ensuring law and order in the area. However, by 11 pm the protest was over and the protestors cleared the road.
