Indore: Waiting for flight at airport is not a very good experience for most passengers. But now they can utilise this time in getting their health check-up done at the airport on nominal rates and obtain test reports through email and SMS. A Pune-based healthcare company will install a health ATM at city airport from June 1 through which a passenger can undergo more than 42 tests.
According to Dr Nimita Manocha of healthcare company, Health ATM will look like an ATM and people can get their general health check-up done in minutes through it. Machine will also have telemedicine facility through which patients can consult doctors. The machine will conduct blood sugar test, parasite test for dengue, malaria and check blood pressure. It will also have facility for lipid profile and ECG. “A technician will guide people on how to use machine. The charges for blood sugar test will be Rs 50 while the lipid profile can be done in Rs 200. Charges will vary with tests,” Dr Manocha added.
When contacted, airport director Aryama Sanyal said passengers will get good facility and can utilise their waiting time. “People do not get time to go through health check-up and this facility will help them to know their health status,” she said. The company has already installed a machine at Konkan Railways and has tie up with various hospitals of city. The machine will function for three months. Its time will be extended depending on response.
