Indore: The health department has initiated action against medical officer Dr Madhav Hasani for embezzlement in programmes organised to mark International Day of Older Persons in 2015 and stopped his one increment besides recovering Rs 30,100 from him.
As per the orders released by joint director, health (grievances), Dr JP Khare, an investigation against Dr Hasani was started after lodging a complaint against him with Lokayukta for organising camps for older people only ‘on papers’. As per the result of investigation, he was found guilty and his one increment has been stopped besides recovering half of the embezzlement amount i.e. Rs 30,100.
Dr Hasani was working as nodal officer for the programme and had cleared the bills and got payment for stuff like snacks, tea and water to organise camps for older people to observe International Day for Older Persons at seven health centres.
However, no such camps were organised and no such day was observed at any of the centre.
Dr Hasani had received a payment of Rs 60,200 for organising the programme on papers. According to Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Pravin Jadia, similar, action has been taken against then Civil Surgeon Dr Hemant Dwivedi and to programme officer Rekha Parmar for their involvement in the embezzlement.
